I said in an earlier post that I’d say something about “happiness vs. joy.” Sorry I didn’t get to it sooner. Life, you know.
I’ve heard somewhere that the word “happiness” was derived from the same root as the word “happening” … so I guess if you follow that line of reasoning, then happiness is probably based upon what’s happening. [...]

I was feeling a bit “down” over the weekend, and the thought of celebrating Thanksgiving this year was almost depressing whenever I found myself thinking about the meaning behind the holiday rather than just the food and preparations going into the big meal.

Recently someone I know said that God is good because their life is good. Because they’re healthy … and they’ve been accepted to the educational program of their choice … and they’re happily in love, etc., etc. … and since life’s just plain “good” in every sense they can think of … they’ve concluded that “God is good!”

Sorry I’ve been so scarce. According to that great philosopher, John Lennon, “Life’s what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” Lots of general life happening … so much for my idea of keeping up with a regular blog.
If I have some time later today, I’ll write an entry (or ten).
