Wow … I’m someone I’ve never even heard of before. Figures. lol

Plus I thought it was funny that Karl Barth came up second. When I read a long article about him just now, it stated that he didn’t believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. Which I do. Strongly. Since that’s such a foundational belief, it seemed funny that he would come up so high on my list.

So I guess that sort of puts this entire quiz into question.

I definitely think there might be something wonky with the quiz. I’ve always been John Calvin but today I was Karl Barth.

My oldest daughter came up as John Calvin on the quiz. Since she and I have very similar beliefs, it was interesting to me that we didn’t come up with the same person.

I gotta look up Barth, cuz he was a philosopher not a theologian, right?
maybe i will do a post on him…..

Actually, he was theologian, too. He’s sort of an interesting guy. He came out of the whole Liberal Protestant thing in Europe and embraced Swiss Reformed theology. I would imagine that it’s probably the whole Reformed thing that made him come up on my list from the quiz. Here’s the article I read about him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Barth

He really does sound a lot like me theologically (until I came to the statement about his possible unbelief in the inerrancy of the Bible). I guess I never really knew anything about him (for some reason I thought he was a theologically liberal guy … but maybe that was a remnant from his earlier life before he became Reformed?).

Except for Blessed Augustine, they’re all Western theologians. What happened to the Orthodox? Where’s St. John Chrysostom?
Oh well.

That’s a good point. You’ll need to take it up with whoever made the quiz, though.

Apparently, I am Martin Luther, although I got the same score for Barth. I must admit I don’t know much about either.

Funny how we ended up to be like people we don’t know much about (although up until taking the test, I’d never even heard of Anselm).

I’m a big fan of Barth, I spent a lot of time in College studying diffrent theology (Christian Ministries Degree) and alway found Barth to have a good grounding in reason. Yet at the same time he was convinced that his faith was reasonable even though he could not explain God completely. I scored a High Anselm becuase I was raised in a very conservitate house by a Mother who beleieved that God was the kind of Father your mother threats you with like, “You just wait till your Father hears about this.” It’s kind of been conditioned into me to see God that way too, even though I know in my head he is not that way.

I really don’t know much about Anselm at all. Maybe I need to do a little research. Thanks for your input!
