… but I’ve been told not to tell anyone at church until after Sunday.
I don’t think anyone from our new church reads this blog at this point, but just in case, mum’s the word, okay?
I think some of you can probably guess, though.
But remember …. don’t tell anyone. Shhhhhhhh ….

I have failed …

I have failed at posting everday in February. So sad.
Oh, well. No chocolate for me, huh Gina?
Life got crazy suddenly the past couple of days. Nothing horrible. Just busy. For one thing, I was asked at the last minute by our pastor to go with the church Office Manager to a [...]
The Gluten-Free Zone

My two daughters are both wheat/gluten intolerant so I’ve been struggling to find my way through the maze of gluten-free products, books, cookbooks and other information that’s available now. I decided it’d be helpful for me to make a place for myself online where I can link to the various gluten-free products that are available [...]
Another update about the job …

I just got home from my job interview at church. I think it went well, but there were two other people they need to interview so it’s still not over yet. The hiring committee told me I’ll probably hear back from them one way or the other by the end of next week.
Continued prayers always appreciated! [...]

Three things:
1) Today — Feb 18th — is my youngest daughter’s 13th birthday. How can my “baby” be officially a teenager now? Amazing.
2) I’ve been called in to have an interview at church for that job I’ve applied for. They’ve narrowed it down to the three people who they’re going to interview. Not sure yet what day or [...]
I just heard back from the lady with the free fridge …

… and it’s going to fit in my kitchen! Hooray!
Now we just have to figure out how to get it here. But even if I end up renting a small U-Haul truck and appliance dolly, it’ll still be a LOT less expensive than buying a new refrigerator (or even than buying a used [...]
Two kinds of people …

There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, “All right, then, have it your way.”

Update to the fridge saga
Posted in Day-to-Day on February 14, 2008 | 2 Comments »
Yesterday afternoon, I sent an email to everyone I know who lives within driving distance of us. One of my friends from our previous church before we moved emailed me back and said that yesterday she had two emails … one from me saying I was looking for a fridge and one from a woman [...]
How do you dispose of a dead fridge?
Posted in Day-to-Day, Prayer request, appliances, family on February 13, 2008 | 8 Comments »
I don’t know the answer to that question yet, but I get to find out today. My birthday gift to myself will evidently be a new refrigerator. Mine died completely yesterday … or at least we noticed it today so it was either yesterday or the day before when it kicked the bucket (happy birthday to [...]

Yep, today’s my birthday. My dad reminded me this morning that I’m getting closer to being eligible for AARP. LOL! Thanks, Dad.
On a different topic, I realized this week that it was harder to verbalize my Bible study time than I thought it would be. Here I thought that the idea of just [...]
