Well, I blew it this morning. I spent money on a non-essential. :(
But I learned something from today’s episode … so I’ll just dust myself off, start again, and head in the right direction with some new wisdom under my belt.
The lesson learned?
“Don’t leave home in the morning to run errands without eating breakfast (or at least SOMETHING!) first.”
I started getting light-headed and woozy (which always happens when I skip a meal), so I ended up in the drive-thru at McDonald’s for a quick breakfast sandwich on my emergency run to the store to buy toilet paper (the essential).
While it’s true that I didn’t spend much money … and it came from the loose change in the car and bottom of my purse … but still … I hate breaking a promise to anyone … even to myself.
Actually, I guess there are two lessons in this.
Lesson #2: ”Keep stocked up on staples and necessities to avoid emergency runs to the store (and the subsequent spending temptations each trip to the store can bring!).”
Okay. Lesson(s) learned.
Onward and upward! :-)
And so the Spending Moratorium continues …

Don’t be too hard on yourself, Deb. Grace, grace.
Thanks, Denise. I’m trying to extend grace to myself … it’s just that if I don’t stretch what little funds I have far enough, the natural consequences of my “indiscretion” would be severe. So I’m trying to keep myself in line.
